We meet again...

I knew I wouldn't be any good at this whole blogging thing. It has been over a month since I posted...shame on me. I have perfectly good excuses for not blogging. First off, baseball season is in full swing. And by full swing, I mean working on average about 10 hours a day and going weeks without a day off. Ahh, the joys of working for a Major Leagues Baseball team. Also, I am in the last 5 weeks of my Master's degree and professors think it is funny to pile on the homework and projects at towards the end of the semester just to see how many graduate students can have mental breakdowns before May. Lastly, every free moment that I do come across is dedicated to spending time with my handsome boyfriend or looking for a new job that will challenge me, as well as allow me to support myself financially. I am busy, to say the least.

On the brighter side of things, the Texas Rangers are 8-1, as of today! When the team is winning and bringing in fans, it makes my work like so much more enjoyable. They have defeated the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles. The team has not had this good of record since 1989 and it is very exciting to start off the season so well. I was actually able to enjoy a Rangers game last Monday with the newly married Gerad and Stormey and my wonderful boyfriend, Dustin. It is always nice to be at the Ballpark and not have to worry about work.

Along with the getting to enjoy a baseball game, I had another exciting moment. I purchased my cap, gown and hood for graduation. The feeling that I got when I tried on the gown was so awesome. I have been long awaiting this moment and am so exciting that after 19 years of going to school, I will finally be finished and not have to return...unless I decide to get a Ph. D, which I have actually contemplated. (Someone, please talk me out of it!) I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to further my education and hopefully, it will pay off in the near future. The only thing is...the cap and gown are a disgusting color and will definitely clash with my red hair. :/

As for the current job situation, I am still with the Texas Rangers, but I am hoping to find a job that challenges me and compensates me on the level that I am striving for. I have worked very hard to get where I am today and hope that all of my hard work pays off in the end.

Welp, that's all I have for today. Maybe I can blog again soon and not wait another month or two.

Here lately...

Apparently, it is more difficult to find time to blog than I had first expected. Since it is a slow day at The Ballpark and I have some free time at work, I will take advantage of the opportunity and do a little blogging.

I am so excited about numerous things going on in my life right now! :)

First off, I had a great Valentine's Day with a special someone (no names will be mentioned ;) ). It has been a long time since I have truly enjoyed a great Valentine's Day and this year I was able to do just that. Nothing is official, but he's an absolutely GREAT guy and I am so happy that he is in my life right now.

Also, I have been asked to be a bridesmaid in Stormey & Gerad's wedding which is probably one of the coolest opportunities EVER. I love the two of them soooo much and am so excited to be a part of their BIG DAY! It will be a beautiful wedding and it means so much to me that they want me to be involved. I can't wait to spend a weekend in Abilene with everyone we all went to college with and see two of my good friends get married. It will be an awesome weekend.

Buuut, the first celebration will occur this weekend...my 24th birthday! It's hard to believe I am already 24. I renewed my license for what I like to call "my big girl" (no longer vertical, but horizontal!) license. It makes me feel old. Stormey, even though her wedding is in 9 days, has decided to spend the day shopping with me and also, planned a birthday get-together for Saturday night! (As you can see, I am very blessed with great friends!) I am sad that my friends from Houston & Norman, Oklahoma are not able to attend but I am ecstatic to spend time with my friends from the DFW area and celebrate the big 24! Hopefully, I remember it... (Sorry, Mom.)

Two weeks from Saturday, the Texas Ranger's individual game tickets go one sale! I know this does not sound exciting to any of you who are not baseball fans, but in my line of work, it is a big day. On-sale day symbolizes that the season is growing near and my life is about to get busy CHAOTIC, to say the least. I am hoping that this year's season brings just as much as excitement as last year's. GO RANGERS!!! :)

Pretty sure my life is still not cool enough to blog about, but I will try and keep it up.

And so it begins...

Ok, so here's the deal. I have never even considered blogging. I mean, seriously...who wants to read about my boring life? Well, a couple of days ago, my good friend Stormey (holla!) began her own blog. She encouraged me to get involved and mentioned (verbatim from the text she sent me), "...look at this way, it's just a longer status update!" Due to some extremely unusual weather here in Texas, I have been couped up in my apartment for the past 4 days and figure that there's no time like the present to start this blogging business. So, here goes nothing...

Speaking of the weather, I have had more snow days in the past two years living here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area than I ever did living in West Texas for the first 22 years of my life. The snow is absolutely beautiful but it definitely puts a damper on life. Texans are just not cut out for inches and inches of snow and ice. The weather has permitted me to do the following in the past week:

1.) Completed an entire semester of case studies for my graduate Organizational Behavior course in less than two days. Let me remind you that this semester consisted of 15 case studies. Let's say it all together...LAME.
2.) Clean my (already spotless) apartment.
3.) Cook three meals. (I am an awful cook so this is not a regular occurence for me.)
4.) Caught up on my favorite show...Jersey Shore! "The cabs ah here!" <----Sorry, I had to...

So, my life has not exhibited much any excitement this week. Today is the first day I have been out of the apartment since Monday and I am currently sitting in my 10 hour (yes, 10 hour) real estate graduate course. Really, 10 hours, you are asking...let me explain before you think I am a complete over-achiever. I am currently employed by the 2010 ALCS Champion Texas Rangers and work at a little place called The Ballpark in Arlington, some of you might of heard of it or seen it on tv during the World Series. (I must brag that I have one of the coolest, most amazing jobs ever!) Well, when the baseball season is going on, I work between 60 and 70 hours a week AND go to grad school full-time. Therefore, this class was a great way to knock one of my classes out in a matter of 4 Saturdays, one month (which will be over next weekend!). The next weekend is my birthday and I was not about to have class...not happening. And then the next weekend, I am traveling to Abilene, Texas to attend two of my most amazing friends' wedding...Stormey & Gerad. So, this class was a great idea (especially since I am sitting here writing a blog) and will greatly help me out in the near future.

Anywho, I don't know how interesting this blog will ever be, but I will do my best to keep it updated and interesting. I decided to end with a little picture to show you how cool my job really is...yes, that is one of the best pitchers to ever play the game of baseball, Mr. Nolan Ryan. (This was taken at the World Series Gala: Tami on the left, me on the right.)
